What BASE is
Base is Coinbase's Ethereum L2, built on the MIT-licensed OP Stack in collaboration with Optimism, with Coinbase joining as the second core development team on the stack.
Scope
Base's OP Stack deployment ahead of mainnet: the bridge and portal contracts, the deposit and withdrawal paths, and the chain configuration.
